So, I've been griping this morning about the number of hours I've been having to work. I'll be damn near 60 hours for this week by the time it's over (assuming I DON'T have to work after hours any more). And the biggest complaint is that it's doing SOMEONE ELSE'S WORK, not mine.
But, I've realized, that there is always a silver lining. Mine, in this case, is loopy time.
These times don't come THAT often, but when they do, it's always amusing (at least to me). B accused me today at lunch of channeling Robin Williams - which I have the feeling he wouldn't appreciate, since he's still alive. When these rare events come, it's almost as if my logical brain says "THAT'S IT I QUIT!" and the creative/logical brain says "wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!" Not only am I loopier than crap, but I tend to appreciate music, art, etc more. I also tend to get more work done in this mode for some reason.. I don't know if it's because there's inherently a creative component to engineering or what.
So, if I don't wind up getting sent home for being crazy, today should be a better day.
Come watch the Huber show. It'll be one to TiVo.
