Ok, so this is my little hole in the web, where I give random updates on life, various techie bits I find, or just silly things in general. If you know me at all, you may or may not be interested. :) If there's something you'd like to add, please feel free, and let me know if there's anything you want to know!

I thought "The Postman" was just a story...

If you have read "The Postman," then you recognize this story.

WOW! I didn't know a foot would FIT that far down a throat!!!

Motrin ROYALLY screwed up.  They launched an ad about babywearing, and managed to TOTALLY alienate the market segment they were aiming at.  Here's the story.

Out of the mouths of babes

So yesterday, we're at Target, doing some random shopping.  Fiona walks by the magazine counter and sees a magazine with President-elect Obama on it.  She smiles and starts skipping off, singing "Barack Obama is President!"

Right past a pair of little blue-hair old ladies that scowled at the fact that I was not aghast at the fact that she was doing this.

Get over it. :)

Not EVERYTHING should be made out of Soy

Had a very nice day today.. Went for a long drive - up to Flat Irons Mall, through Boulder, up to Nederland, and back around to Black Hawk.  Saw some snow showers, and overall there were beautiful views.

Normally we take CO 6 back through Golden, but we had never been through Central City, so we went up that way and around to I70 to come back.  On a wild hair (hare?), I took 470 down to CO 285.  Around this time, B decides that she wants Beau Jo's for dinner.  We haven't been there in several years, so we find the one on Colorado, and head in.

At this point, anyone who has tried to eat with me is asking themselves "why?"  Indeed, I normally get pizzas with no cheese, but on a whim, I try the "Dairy-free cheese."  That translates to: Soy Cheese

As the title would imply, it leaves something to be desired.  It doesn't melt, at all, so the goal of keeping everything on the pizza doesn't get achieved.  And it's a bit odd.  Doesn't taste BAD, per se, just odd.

Nevertheless, I tried it.  Hmm.. no thanks.

Accomplishing weekend

Got a lot done.. cleaned both B's and my offices, got Fiona's desk and chair set up for her computer, and put together the last bookshelf to store some of the magazines and crap that was on my office floor.  May not seem like much, but I've been trying to clean my office for months (if not years).

Huberisms

If you ever hear Hubersan yell, "Holy cow!!!" and then cackle with pride, he pooted.

Scary

Halloween was scary this year.

As many times as you think I'd learn, we went to Traildust for dinner.  The original idea was that we'd be out of the house while the annoying kids on the street ignored the 'if the light's not on, don't knock' rule and pissed off the dog.  Plus, to make up for it, they have the cool slide for Fiona.

We had neglected to remember the:

  • Way too expensive food
  • Fairly mediocre food
  • REALLY annoying live band that shouldn't quit their day jobs

Oh well.
