Fedora 9
I had learned.
I learned from the F7 to F8 debacle to wait a bit. Let the Nvidia drivers hit Livna before rebuilding. Let the first few dozen updates hit to fix the last bugs.
I had learned.
After watching and waiting, I made sure that all the needed drivers were available, my files were backed up elsewhere, and my configuration was noted. Especially proud I was (Yoda?) of the fact that the AD integration worked perfectly. Wasn't happy wtih the hack-job getting Compiz on, though, so F9 would fix that.
Wipe the box. Have a brief panic attack. Install F9. Amaze at the pretty 3D Nvidia drivers. Laugh at the Compiz wobbly windows that work out of the box. Relax. Turn on winbind and join it back to the domain.
Wonder what happened to my pretty Fedora box. As it sits there. Forever.
Wipe, start over. Works fine... works fine.. works fine as root, even. Try to log in with an AD account? Give it up. Have to reboot. Same thing every build. Sure, it could be the domain.. but I doubt it.. it DID work fine before.
For some reason, it simply will NOT let me auth off of the domain. Bitches. So I'm stuck with a local account until I manage to beg and plead with the Fedora community to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
