Back from the Big Easy

Just a few comments:

  1. The wedding was awesome.
  2. Props to Marriott for the awesome view out our hotel room.  Overlooked the causeway over Lake Ponchartrain.  Got pics that we'll upload eventually.
  3. The weather was great.  Which means it's gonna be a nightmare in July/August.  Blech.
  4. Food - INSANELY good.  Just make sure you don't overdo it.  An hour before you get on the plane.
  5. Unless the price difference is THAT much, go ahead and bite the bullet and fly into New Orleans rather than flying into Baton Rouge and driving.  The drive isn't THAT bad, but Baton Rouge is worse than New Orleans.
  6. New Orleans roads are still a disaster to navigate.  When in doubt, TRUST THE GPS.  Or, better yet, print out the damn map.  And don't argue with your wife about where you're trying to go.  It's not worth it.

1) The reception was also fabulous.  Sarah looked beautiful, and it was great to see them smiling--brought tears of happiness to my eyes to see them so happy.  Kev's mom was hilarious, too.  Those two have good friends, too.

Scythe, it was good to see your family, too.  I'm tickled at the thought of you sailing with us.

2) The view was occasionally creepy.  That fog had me thinking large radioactively-changed bugs were about to appear.  The beds and Saturday night noise level left much to be desired.  The lady (Brooke?) at the desk who helped me get everything to the room, though, was the bomb!

4) Yeah, I think I'm cutting you off of the sausage before we get on a plane next time.  I should have gotten the cool breakfast, though.

5) It was that much more and annoying to fly into NOLA.  More money and it wouldn't be a non-stop.  Baton Rouge, though, looked beat the heck up.

6)  Yeah, I hate your GPS.  It needs to stop yelling at us.  I'll take print-outs over that irritating female voice any day.  And the bluetooth randomly dropping wasn't cool, either.
